A Gift From Earth

Centuries from now, humanity has expanded light years beyond Earth. One small settlement about nine light years away is Mount Lookitthat, set many miles above the swirling and unbearably hot ocean base of the planet We Made it. Most citizens live in fear of committing any misdemeanor or crime that will send them to the dreaded Organ Banks, which provide replacement livers, hearts and other human parts for those that can afford them. Jesus Pietro Castro, head of Implementation with enormous powers of life and death over the human population, orders a raid on a house party, where some of the partygoers are members of an underground rebel group.Young Matt Keller escapes from the raid, and we follow his efforts, among others, to survive and overthrow Jesus Pietro Castro and the cruel, terrifying system he has enforced.
